Air

Using the latest refrigerant technology these heat pumps extracts heat from the air and can work in temperatures down to -20 degrees celsius. Highest SCOP rating of 4.4.

Water

If you have a local lake, pond or river a large amount of heat can be extracted from it especially if the water is moving. The highest SCOP rating at 5.5.

Ground

Boreholes are drilled into the ground where the heat being emitted from the core of the Earth is captured using a mix of brine.

 

SCOP means the seasonal coefficient of performance. In simpler terms this is how efficient your renewable heating system can be whilst in use. If the efficiency is at 5 for example that means 1kW of electricity has an output of 5kW of heat! This is why heat pumps have the RHI incentive behind them currently and are the future of hot water and heating.

Heat Pumps can be cascaded together to suit your sites needs, each source has different possibilities for extensions with ground source being the most common and efficient.
